Your "Age"
There's that age that is on papers, based on how many years have passed since one was born. And on that same day, every year, it is acknowledged that you've lived another year. Then there's that age you act as. Some act older than they are, some act younger. Some feel older, some feel younger.
First off, one is limited by what's on the papers in various ways because of certain laws. To those who care about those "barriers", it becomes a big deal to them. Also, for most people, when they are asked there age, it is simple to answer with stated age.
Some consider themselves to be older than their actual age. I have a friend who says she's an "old, cranky cat lady who's trapped in a younger body." And she doesn't mean that in a bad way. The majority of people avoid her (till they get to know her) because she's cautious of others. She doesn't trust fakers, and hence, won't be too warm to them. Still, there are others who want to grow up faster, and hence feel that they are older than they are, because of the extra steps they are taking so as to feel like they're speeding up their aging.
Others feel like they're younger than what they actually are. This is like me and the majority of my friends. One points out that this is because we spend a lot of time with kids, and, in a way, keep feeling like a kid despite our ages. And apparently act like such way too. Some of my other friends say that because of their teen years, feeling that in that age section, they were in the happy middle.
Overall, I've found no "overall preference". Frankly, when asked my own age, it takes me a while to respond because I have to remember how old I've turned on my most recent birthday.
