Doctor Strange - Sherlock Follows Watson to the MCU

I'm a big fan of BBC, specifically Doctor Who (New Who), Torchwood, and Sherlock, so I'm constantly on the lookout for those actors, especially Benedict Cumberbatch because his acting is just that good. Plus, Martin Freeman had just shown up in Captain America: Civil War, so I was hoping - and continue to hope - for an interaction between the two. Come on, Feige! Just have them on the screen at the same time, at least!
Regardless of that, Doctor Strange is definetly one of MCU's best solo intro films - one of the best; let's not forget the greatness of Black Panther that beat them down. Still, I put Doctor Strange with Iron Man in the way it is quick to grab your attention. Smart guys having a fall from grace seems to work for MCU. Well, except for The Incredible Hulk.
Stephen Strange is at Tony level smarts, fame, and fortune in his own field, the top surgeon full of arrogance who, in a car crash, has his hands damaged to the point where returning to the operation table will be impossible for him. Still, being that rich, Strange pursues for a way out, till finding out about a possible solution. On the last of his money, he travels to Nepal, having his arrogance shoved back in his face as  - after being momentarily kicked out - he takes to learning magic with the Ancient One. Though rather an embarrassment at first, he rises - makes you wonder how long it would take Tony to learn magic, if he wanted to - leading to the facing of Kaecilius, and then Dormammu, in which Doctor Strange sacrifices himself to being killed eternally so as to stop Dormammu's destruction, until Dormammu agrees to his bargain.
Obviously, Doctor Strange is fantastic; I mean, who doesn't like magic? Plus, he is holder of the Time Stone, the Eye of Agamotto to be specific, this allowing him to save the world. If you like Cumberbatch, Sherlock, or magic, you'll enjoy this as much as any MCU fan.
Now, the other big focus, beyond Doctor Strange himself, is the magic. Yeah, we had Scarlet Witch before Doctor Strange, but because Stephen studies with the Ancient One, refining his skills, you can tell he has more control, the patterns themselves appearing as part of the magic.
So I do think that, if you don't have the time, you can skip this film in preparation for Endgame, but if you have the time, then definitely watch Doctor Strange because of how good it is. This will introduce you to the Time Stone, plus the Ancient One is slated to appear in Endgame. And, it's a nice lead into Thor: Ragnarok.
