Thor: The Dark World - The Reality Stone's Hiding Spot

*Taken from Wikipedia.

I've heard people call this the worse MCU movie, excluding The Incredible Hulk. Someone even compared the Thor trilogy to the Cars movies, the sequels becoming the franchises's disappointments. I agree; Jane Foster is very unlikable, at least to me, throughout this whole movie, they seem to want to make a love triangle with Sif (and then she's gone from Ragnarok), and Darcy crosses the line from funny to annoying. But the problem lies mainly in Jane Foster.
I get the wanted the whole empowered woman angle, but did she really have to talk to Odin like that. True, she had no idea who he was, but she is on another planet with magic/high level science, with something dangerous inside her, and Odin is this tough old man with an eyepatch, like and Asgardian Nick Fury. And she tries to be so dramatic when explaining how physics and reality will be in chaos, but it sounds so fake! Natalie Portman clearly didn't bother to giver her all in this film, which is why it's so great she's gone by Thor: Raganarok. Honestly, the most annoying girlfriend of the MCU (excluding The Incredible Hulk, but even then it's pretty close).
Thor is alright, but not great. His weak scenes are those with Jane. I mean, when he's explaining the alignment of the worlds, using his hands like an Asgardian Tarzan, I'm just cringing. His best scenes are the interaction with Loki.
Loki is what saves this movies, him counteracting the horrendous of Jane Foster. And I get that I'm bias, but him pretending to be Cap - Chris Evans cameo - is a nice moment, even though Loki didn't have that big of an interaction with him in Avengers. Scenes remind us that Loki isn't solely a villain, and showcase Tom Hiddleston's acting
Malekith, our villain here, is played by Christopher Eccleston, Doctor Who's Ninth Doctor. That's the highlight of him. Not that memorable of a villain.
Oh, and Thor's mom dies. Didn't feel as personal because we barely knew her, unlike Bucky in Captain America: The First Avenger, despite the Norse funeral that honestly made think more about How To Train Your Dragon 2.
And the Aether. The Reality Stone which leads to Gamora being taken by Thanos in Infinity War. You don't really need a refresher of this film, despite the stones placement; maybe a quick summary of the film, googling key scenes, and then move onto Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Now I know this all seems like I hate the movie, but I don't. It is one of the few MCU movies I had at first, buying it with my Christmas money (I think along with Frozen...). Again, it's like Cars 2; I can watch it, but will probably be playing on my phone for a good part of it.
So, if you've already watched the movie and have some memory of what happens, you're safe. If not, just check in to see the introduction of the Reality Stone, plus the end credit scene with The Collector - get yourself prepared for Guardians of the Galaxy.
