The Avengers - Let's Mash Them Up!

"There once was an idea..."
Yeah, the quote that has come back into central focus as Endgame approaches, first said by Nick Fury. We have the original trinity - Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor - included within our original six Avengers, the ones that survived the Thanos snap (plus a few others). With all the talk about time travel, leaked footage, theories, and so on, it is of course integral to refresh this movie in preparation for Endgame.
Loki is the Big Bad for our Avengers here, all while being a pawn for Thanos in his greater plan. But let me focus on Loki first. As I stated before, I love Loki and Avengers furthers such enjoyment. Also, I'd like to point out how great it is that he changes his wardrobe, just to fit in with the scene. He could have easily continued with his suit and scarf, but went back to his Asgardian clothes. And Tom Hiddleston's acting is just great, not even having to speak to convey Loki's ways.
Plus, Hulk swings him around like a doll! Having Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, you can practically erase the original Hulk movie, as the only continuity is on talk of science and gamma rays. They even mention the Hulk serum being an attempt to Cap's super soldier serum, taking away the need to see Banner's connection to the military in the Hulk movie. Even his former love interest is completely side lined.
Captain America, on the other hand, does get on my nerves a little bit here. His goodness comes off as arrogance, at least to me (because some Cap fans hate it when I point this out), as though he expects everyone to act as he does. Not everyone got the serum, Steve! Yet, his naivety is charming and enjoyable, saving him. Also, why did they play up that waitress looking at him so much? Did I miss something? Is she like, another relative of Peggy (watch it be that later on or she's Peggy's great-niece, prior to SHIELD)? Steve also has that statement about God, how he wouldn't dress the way Thor or Loki do, which I get, for he comes from a different time period and the whole no-atheist-in-the-trenches kind of idea, I guess. But still, why does he have to rain on Tony? If you can save yourself while saving others, do that! That way, there is no unnecessary death! Yeah, I get that in that moment, one wouldn't have much time to think, but Tony is a super genius, and the want to live is what keeps us going. Why should he judge Tony for having a different work style?
And Iron Man. The one that started it all. Can you imagine if Tony had actually died? It's nice to see his first interactions with the other Avengers, especially Cap, because of their connection through Howard Stark. Still, that almost-death in the Avengers, makes me further fear his death in Endgame, for it wouldn't it be a perfect circle, traveling back to when he could have died, then actually dieing? Also, Schwarma.
Thor's alright. His real highlight comes when fighting with Iron Man and Thor, especially when smashing his hammer on Cap's shield. Again, this is mostly because I'm a Loki fan.
Black Widow and Hawkeye feel like a duo, even though they are apart for the most part. This may be because they didn't get their own films and didn't have a "hardcore" superpower. Yeah, Black Widow fights well and Hawkeye shoots arrows, but... it doesn't compare to what others do. And we barely got Hawkeye in Thor, so there isn't as a strong of a connection established between him and the audience before hand. And this scene reminds me of that SNL skit where Hawkeye runs out of arrows? How did he not run out sooner?
All in all, a great film to watch, and a must for preparing for Endgame. The trailers have been showing Hawkeye as Ronin, with a sword, so I guess there's no need to worry about the arrows running out.
